The 68-year-old former American Airlines flight attendant was found deceased in her home at Parsons Landing, Islip, alongside her husband, William Clifford, who also lost his life in a suspected murder-suicide. Authorities were called to the scene early Thursday morning after a passing garbage truck driver discovered William, a 73-year-old tugboat operator, with a fatal gunshot wound outside their residence.
Eileen, known for her extensive volunteer work, had received numerous accolades, including a Presidential Volunteer Service Award from George W. Bush. She was also the president of the Kiwi Club of Long Island, an organization dedicated to current and former flight attendants. Her contributions to the community were widely recognized, and she was a constant advocate for helping others.
